To provide a waste incineration plant and a waste incineration method capable of reducing chlorine components in burned ash to use the burned ash for the material of cement.
The burned ash discharged from an incineration furnace 3 is thrown into a submerged pit 8. Washing water is supplied from a washing water supply system 10 to the submerged pit 8, and the burned ash is cooled by the washing water and saline contained in the burned ash is dissolved. The washing water is supplied from the submerged pit 8 to a spray nozzle 17 of a flue gas cooling tower 16, discharged from the incinerator furnace 3 and sprayed over the flue gas containing the burned fly ash. Thus, the flue gas is cooled, and the saline dissolved in the washing water is re-crystallized. The re-crystallized saline is recovered by dust collectors 20 and 21 from the flue gas together with the fly ash.
