To provide a simplified method for effectively isolating resin components from industrial wastes especially of scrapped car origin.
Plastic-containing wastes are injected into a melting/decomposing unit 1 with a reservoir of a mixed solution 2 comprising a weakly polar or nonpolar solvent and a strongly polar solvent, and the mixed solution 2 with the wastes immersed therein is heated. In another case, the mixed solution 2 is heated in the melting/decomposing unit 1, and then plastic-containing wastes are injected into the heated mixed solution 2. As the nonpolar solvent, waste gasoline, waste light oil, waste kerosene, thinner, benzene, hexane, or the like is used. As the weakly polar solvent, acetone or the like is used. As the strongly polar solvent, N-methylpyrrolidone, dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, tetrahydrofuran, γ-butyrolactone, diacetone alcohol, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethylbenzene, 2-pyrrolidone, or the like is used.
