Abstract:

To solve the problem that a vertical wind is hard to measure with satisfactory accuracy in an observation at a low angle of elevation in conventional cases and that a Doppler speed difference due to a difference in an angle of elevation cannot be obtained effectively with reference to a small vertical wind in a general weather situation.

A signal processing part comprises a Doppler calculation part for a received signal, a Jacobian matrix calculation part with reference to a plurality of angles of elevation, a Jacobian matrix composition part used to composite respective Jacobian matrixes and a wind-velocity calculation part wherein a sine wave model which exists on a face perpendicular to a preset direction regarding a Doppler speed obtained by assuming that a spatial distribution of a wind velocity is uniform and which is on a circumference at an equal distance from an electromagnetic-wave radiation part is set on the basis of a composited Jacobian matrix, the Doppler speed is applied to the sine wave model and a wind velocity vector is calculated.
