Abstract:

To reduce variations in the developed dimensions of an expanded grid for a lead-acid storage battery produced by reciprocal expanding, and restrain a short storage battery lifetime due to corrosion when the grid body is used as a positive electrode.

In a manufacturing method for expanded grid body for a lead- acid storage battery by a reciprocal expanding method using a die cutter 10 on which a plurality of processing blades are laid out in line, the die cutter 10 has the first blade B1for forming slits placed at a side edge of a lead alloy sheet and the second to Nth blades (N is a natural number not less than 3) laid out to form slits in a direction of an inside of the alloy sheet sequentially from the side edge, and a blade tip angle αkof the kth blade (2≤k≤N-1) except for the first blade B1and a blade tip angle αk+1of the (k+1)th blade are expressed as αkk+1.
