To provide a method of treating chloride-containing dust by which chlorine matter, lead matter and calcium matter are separated from each other from the chloride-containing dust and recovered.

The method of treating the chloride-containing dust includes (A) a process for obtaining a solid portion containing the lead matter and a liquid portion containing chlorine matter by adjusting slurry obtained by mixing the chloride-containing dust with water for forming the slurry to pH 7-10 and filtering, (B) a process for obtaining calcium hydroxide and an alkaline solution containing the lead matter by mixing the solid portion containing the lead matter with an alkaline solution and filtering, (C) a process for obtaining lead sulfide and a liquid portion by adding a sulfiding agent into the alkaline solution containing the lead matter and filtering, (D) a process for obtaining calcium carbonate and a liquid portion by mixing the liquid portion obtained in the process A with the liquid portion obtained in the process C, adding a carbonate source and filtering and (E) a process for recovering the chlorine matter in the liquid portion obtained in the process D as a chloride by crystallization method. A part of the liquid portion obtained in the process C is used for the water for forming the slurry in the process A.
