Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of pulses between a telephoto end and a wide end in zooming to make speed higher and to follow a cam locus without causing blurring by obtaining a focusing position at the telephoto end in some subject distance in the adjustment of telephoto/middle tracking. SOLUTION: The position of a variator lens 102 on an optical axis is set to a zoom position equivalent to the vicinity of the top of a peak in the locus of a focus lens 105, and the lens 105 is moved by a focus motor 121 so as to perform focusing. At the time of confirming the focusing, the lens 105 is lowered based on a designed value and the lens 102 is driven to a telephoto side, simultaneously, whether or not a focusing state is attained is judged. When the movement of the lens 102 is completed and the focusing is realized at such a position, the position of the variator is equivalent to the position of the variator at the telephoto end. The position of a zoom encoder in such a state is stored as a value to regulate the position at the telephoto end.
