To provide an optical disk having a hard coating layer which is excellent in wear resistance, the durability of surface lubricity and transparency in the optical disk of the system that a recording layer is irradiated with a laser beam of a short wavelength, such as a blue laser, through a thin-film cover layer.
The hard coating layer consisting of a transparent cured matter layer of an active energy ray curing composition containing a multifunctional compound having ≥2 polymerizable groups polymerizable by active energy rays, modified colloidal silica of 1 to 200 nm average grain size subjected to surface modification by a mercaptosilane compound, a lubricity imparting agent having a radical polymerizable functional group within the molecule and a photopolymerization initiator is formed through the thin film cover layer on the surface of the recording layer of the optical disk.
