To provide an image processing apparatus for conducting the white and black reversing process while improving the image quality.

The digital copying apparatus 1 comprises a white and black reversion processor 12 and a white and black reversion processor 15 for outputting the image data to a printer 4 after executing the image process required by an image processing part 3 including a gradation processor 14 for implementing at least the gradation process to the image data inputted from a scanner 2, and conducting the white and black reversion process with the image processing part 3 to the image data before and after the gradation process 14 for the processing flow direction of the image data at the time of outputting the image to a paper with the printer 4. The white and black reversion process is implemented with any of the white and black reversion processing part 12 and the white and black reversion processing part 15 in accordance with a kind of the image data for white and black reversion process. Accordingly, the white and black reversion process can be implemented in the stage suitable for a kind of image data, and quality of image data can be improved.
