Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve piezoelectric performance of a piezoelectric material by mixing an active component, which increases in the base material the quantity of dipole moments existing, in a base material. SOLUTION: When energy is transmitted to a piezoelectric material 1, dipoles 2 existing in the material 1 are displaced, and each dipole 2 attempts to return to a stable state. When the dipoles 2 attempts to return their stable states, energy conversion takes place. Since larger quantity of the dipole 2 moments existing in the material 1 increases due to mechanism through which piezoelectric performance is generated through energy conversion by the displacement of the dipoles 2 and the restoring actions of the dipoles 2 in the material 1, larges the piezoelectric performance held by the material 1 becomes. Therefore, the piezoelectric performance of the material 1 can be improved when a material (polyvinyl chloride, etc.), with the dipoles in molecules have large moment weights to begin with is used as the base material component constituting the piezoelectric material.
