To provide a multidirectional input device easily reducible in size and number of components and capable of outputting various signals by operation of an operation member operated in the optional peripheral direction for inputting the signal to a using apparatus.

The operation member 30 tiltable in all the peripheral directions is arranged on a flexible base board 50. A plate part 31 is arranged in the operation member 30, and between the plate 31 and the flexible base board 50, a plurality of conductive rubbers 40 are stood around the center of the operation member 30. Each of the conductive rubbers 40 is brought into contact with a resistor pattern formed on the surface of the flexible base board 30. Each of the conductive rubbers 40 outputs a resistance value corresponding to the contact position when the contact position with the resistor pattern is changed by resilient deformation accompanying tilting operation of the operation member 30. A plurality of conductive rubbers 40 simultaneously serve as holding members holding the operation member 30 resiliently in a neutral position as they are compressed to be brought into contact with the resistor pattern on the base board surface.
