To provide a remote controller for a hot water supply device, improved in convenience for use in switching the hot water supply device from the standby state to the operating state.
This kitchen remote controller 1 and a bathroom remote controller 20 have a function of remote operating the hot water supply device for performing the hot water supply operation of heating water supplied from a water line pipe and delivering hot water to a hot water supply pipe, and an operating state switching means for switching the operating state of the hot water supply device between the operating state of performing the hot water supply operation and the standby state where the hot water supply operation is not performed and the power consumption is lower than that in the operating state. The remote controllers include infrared ray sensors 4, 23 for detecting an object within a designated range from a detecting part, wherein in the case where the hot water supply device is in the standby state, when an object is detected by the infrared ray sensors 4, 23, the hot water supply device is switched to the operating state.
