Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the bend of a scanning line by determining the intrinsic tilt in the sub- scanning cross section on the incident position of a deflected luminous flux on a correcting refractive surface in accordance with the incident position. SOLUTION: After the peripheral part of a luminous flux is cut off and the flux is subjected to the desired beam shaping by passing through the opening part of an aperture 3, the flux is converged in the sub-scanning corresponding direction by a cylindrical lens 5 having positive power only in the sub-scanning corresponding direction and forms the image in the vicinity of the deflection/reflection surface of a rotating polygon mirror 6. The deflected luminous flux 29a deflected by the rotting polygon mirror 6 is made incident on the position 7a of the reflection surface of an image forming mirror 7, made to be the reflected luminous flux 30a and converged on the position 31a on a surface to be scanned as a light spot. The deflected luminous flux 29b is made incident on the position 7b of the reflection surface of an image forming mirror 7, made to be the reflected luminous flux 30b and converged on the position 31b on a surface to be scanned as a light spot. Namely, the reflection surface of the image forming mirror 7 is determined as a correcting reflection surface in accordance with the incident position so that the intrinsic tilt in the sub-scanning intersection corrects the bend of the scanning line.
