Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the ease of handling by interlocking the tilting action of a handle body with a rotary brush. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is of such a structure that a handle body 11 with a dust collection chamber which collects a sucked dust and a fan motor for sucking dust is pivotally supported, in a freely tilting manner, on the rear side of a floor nozzle 7 incorporating a rotary brush 10 for scraping the dust and the power of the fan motor 14 is transmitted to the rotary brush 10 by a power transmission means. In addition, the power transmission means is formed of a rotating pulley fixed to the rotary brush 10, an idling pulley fitted, in a freely rotatable manner, to the rotary brush 10 and a belt 12 spread tensely between either of the pulleys and the shaft 13 of the fan motor 14. Further, a switching lever 15 is provided which selects between the rotating pulley and the idling pulley with a belt 12 to interlock the tilting action of the handle body 11 with the action of the switching lever 15. Thus it is possible to transmit the power of the fan motor 14 to the rotary brush 10 in response to the tilting action of the handle body 11.
