To obtain a water-absorbing fabric which has extremely higher water retention properties than those of ones and excellent water absorption properties and quick-drying properties.
An intermediate layer composed of a large number of yarns 3 is arranged between a face side fabric 1 and a lining fabric 2 and the face side fabric 1 and the lining fabric 2 are densely connected to the yarns 3 of the intermediate layer 7 at connection points 4. A baggy structure 6 provided with voids 5 is formed by enclosing the face side fabric 2 and the lining fabric 2 with the connection points 4. A yarn provided with a great number of projected parts 8 is used as the yarns of the face side fabric and the lining fabric so that the voids 5 are readily secured and water absorbed in the voids 5 are retained. Consequently water retention ability is remarkably improved in comparison with the conventional water-absorbing fabric and water once absorbed is prevented from leaking.
