To achieve high compression ratio as in a diesel cycle and achieve a technique for operating with extremely high efficiency in a subsidiary chamber for jetting out flame jet in a main combustion chamber from the subsidiary chamber via a communication path by compressing new air sucked into the main combustion chamber by the rise of a piston, allowing the new compressed air to flow into the subsidiary chamber via the communicating path, and igniting the mixed air of the new air flowing into the subsidiary chamber and fuel supplied to the subsidiary chamber by an ignition means provided at the subsidiary chamber.
An engine has an injection timing setting structure that has a plurality of subsidiary chambers and sets the injection timing of flame jet from each subsidiary chamber to the main combustion chamber so that the timing differs.
