To improve cycle characteristic in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a thin film electrode having a single membrane of an active material formed on a current collector by uniformly retaining an electrolyte.

In this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, at least a negative electrode of a positive electrode and the negative electrode is formed of the single membrane of the active material having no porosity, and a separator composed of an organic polymer including a porous insulating material particle having a specific surface area of 15m2/g or more and 300m2/g or less is used.
