To provide a mouse pad for an optical mouse that secures the amount of reflected light needed for the normal operation of an optical mouse from the amounts of light reflected from the surface and the inside of a translucent layer, while reducing unwanted electromagnetic radiation, regardless of the colors of characters and designs on the printing surface of a design face, and without sacrificing the visibility of the printing surface.
The mouse pad for an optical mouse comprises a translucent layer having translucency to visible light and having a predetermined reflectivity to light applied from the optical mouse; a filter layer disposed beneath the translucent layer, being translucent to visible light, and having a predetermined absorption rate to the light applied from the optical mouse; a design face disposed beneath the filter layer for displaying characters, designs, etc; an electromagnetic radiation reducing means disposed beneath the design face; and a base material layer disposed beneath the electromagnetic radiation reducing means.
