A device is provided with a gear transmission mechanism 7 which has the back lash and is constituted of the elastic body, a developing rotary 1 which loads multiple developers Y, M, C and K filled with toners of respective colors, which performs acceleration/deceleration by the stepping motor 6 through the gear transmission mechanism 7, changes the colors and forms an image on a photoreceptor and a driving control means 21 which accelerates/decelerates the stepping motor 6 by a prescribed driving profile. The driving control means 21 accelerates/decelerates the stepping motor 6 by the driving profile which drives the motor at speed faster than the lowest speed in an acceleration region corresponding to displacement quantity by the back lash and the elastic body at the time of starting, and sequentially accelerates it by switching the speed to the lowest one after driving.
