A hair iron 1 has correcting elements 11 and 13 which are positioned oppositely at the tip sides 29, 31 of nipping arms 7, 9 for nipping and correcting the hair while warming by nipping actions. The correcting elements 11, 13 have heating plates 67 with mutually opposed correcting faces 87. Curl-forming curved faces 89, 91 curved in the thickness direction of the heating plate 67 are provided with at least one edge in hair inserting directions of the heating plates 67. Curved faces 97, 99 for winding the hair or winding faces 39, 33 of a plane 101 are provided with at least one edge of hair inserting directions of the tip sides 29, 31 at the nipping arms 7, 9. The hair wound to the curved faces 89, 91 is made to be contacted with the curved faces 97, 99 or the plane 101 of the winding faces 39, 33 by extending straight from the curved faces 89, 91.
