To provide a voice input device capable of enabling a user to surely recognize whether or not recording is surely executed and which of a main body side microphone and an external microphone effectively works at present.

A remote control microphone unit 30 including a remote control microphone 32 as the external microphone and a remote control side LED 33 can be connected to an IC recorder 20 that is the voice input device, and the IC recorder 20 is equipped with an incorporated microphone 1, a changeover switch 17 to which an output line of the incorporated microphone 1 or of the remote control microphone 32 is connected, an external jack 16 to which the remote control microphone unit 30 is connected, and a main body side LED 7. While the remote control microphone 32 is not connected, the main body side LED 7 is turned on and voice recording is performed by the incorporated microphone 1. While the remote control microphone 32 is connected, the remote control side LED 33 is turned on and voice recording is performed by the remote control microphone 32.
