Abstract:
The present invention provides an intra-corporeal artificial kidney having a function of metabolizing protein and a method of constructing the same. The present invention provides an intra-corporeal artificial kidney having a function of metabolizing protein which comprises, as constituent elements, a sponge sheet with an angiogenesis promoting growth factor-containing hydrogel injected therein as well as cells with megalin, which is an endocytosis receptor playing a central role in the protein metabolizing function of proximal tubular cells, as expressed on the surface of the cells, and a method of constructing an intra-corporeal artificial kidney having the function of metabolizing protein which comprises using a sponge sheet with an angiogenesis promoting growth factor-containing hydrogel injected therein as well as cells with megalin expressed on the surface.
