Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use waste material and also, to reduce the consumption of expensive large diameter coke by charging the waste material together with fine grain coke from a charging hole for solid fuel arranged at just above primary or secondary tuyere in a vertical type furnace. SOLUTION: Plural steps of the tuyeres 2-4 are arranged in the height direction of the wall surface of furnace hearth part and shaft part of the vertical type furnace 1 and also, the charging hole 6 for iron source and the solid fuel at the upper part and the charging holes 5 for the solid fuel just above the primary tuyere 2 or the secondary tuyere 3, are arranged. The iron source contains self-reducing block ore, reduced iron, iron scrap, casting scrap, etc., as the main component. Further, the waste material of municipal refuse or industrial waste, etc., together with the fine grain coke are charged from the charging hole 5. These solid fuels are efficiently burned in a short preheating time and reaction distance and the generation of harmful gas is little. By this method, pig iron is economically and continuously melted in good heat efficiency and low fuel ratio while effectively using the waste material.
