To provide a decontaminating material which does not clog a gap among soil particles when mixed with the soil, can decontaminate soil speedily while keeping a smooth flow of water in the soil and can surely remove heavy metals in the soil and to provide a decontamination facility.
The decontaminating material is obtained by mixing a powdery material, which can adsorb heavy metals such as arsenic, selenium, hexavalent chromium, lead, cadmium, and fluorine and boron when brought into contact with water, with a fibrous base stock having <1,000 μm average diameter to obtain a mixture and mixing the mixture in the soil.
