The onboard electronic mail communication apparatus 1 is equipped with: a mail reception means for receiving electronic mail addressed to a mail address of a portable telephone 20 while the portable telephone 20 is connected to the communication apparatus 1; an electronic mail recording means for recording the received electronic mail as a file; a transmission means for transmitting the recorded file to the portable telephone 20; and a secret means for deleting the file or setting a password to the file after the recorded file is transmitted to the portable telephone 20.
