To provide an apparatus for positively preventing inflow of foreign matter into an intake, especially when a large amount of jellyfish flows into an inflow channel.
The apparatus has a recovering pontoon, a bottom net, and two float chains. The recovering pontoon floats on the sea level of the inflow channel for introducing cooling sea water from the sea, and functions as a foreign matter receiving port. The bottom net is triangularly spread from the recovering pontoon as a vertex toward the sea bottom on an entering side of the intake channel. The float chains extend on the sea level from the recovering pontoon along two sides of a triangle defining the bottom net, extending from the vertex. Further the apparatus has vertical nets expanding in a front layer area of the sea, which is firmly hung from the float chains to form openings between lower edges of the respective vertical nets and the bottom net.
