To provide a corrosion resistant/wear resistant alloy in which the linkage of the corrosion of eutectic carbides composing a cobalt based, nickel based or iron based alloy used for the sliding part or valve seat of equipment in a dissolved oxygen atmosphere is suppressed.
In the corrosion resistant/wear resistant alloy, an intermediate stock is subjected to hot plastic working in the range of 650°C to a solidus temperature, so that, among the structure consisting of network eutectic carbides and a base material part surrounded thereby in the intermediate stock, the eutectic carbides are made so as to be a plurality of granular or lumpy ones, and to be a discontinuous distribution. Thus, its friction coefficient is 0.1 to 0.5, and its Vickers hardness in a state of being subjected to no aging treatment is 300 to 600 Hv. The intermediate stock is obtained by casting a stock selected from a cobalt base with Cr and/or W added, a nickel base with Fe and/or Cr added, and an iron base with Cr and/or Ni added into an ingot or a slab.
