To provide an alarm system that makes a more reliable response to an alarm by transmitting accurate position information along with the alarm whether a subject is indoors or outdoors.
A portable terminal 101 has: an operation part 205 for transmitting a residence signal indicating that the communication terminal device is in a place of residence, and an alarm; and a signal transmission/reception part 209. A call center 107 has a DB 203 for saving information on the position of the place of residence, a mode setting part 215 for setting the portable terminal 101 that has transmitted the residence signal in a residence mode, and a position specification part 217 for specifying the position of the portable terminal 101 that has transmitted the alarm as set in the residence mode, in the place of residence, when receiving the alarm transmitted by the portable terminal 101.
