This organic electroluminescent element is characterized by having in the same layer, a multifunctional oligomer or a multifunctional polymer having, in each molecule, at least two out of a unit A containing a molecule having a function of a luminescent host, a unit B containing a molecule having a positive hole transporting function, and a unit C containing a molecule having an electron transporting function; and a phosphorescent dopant.
