Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera with a simple configuration where a user can properly and easily photograph an object at a vertical or horizontal position of the camera without making a mistake about how to hold the camera main body and how to lay out the object. SOLUTION: A user operates a template selection switch 4 to select a template picture. A picture display section 3 displays the template picture and a user holds an electronic camera main body 1 in a proper direction according to the display mode of the template picture on the picture display section 3 and depresses a release switch 6 to photograph an object. A system controller writes vertical/horizontal information of the template picture currently selected, that is vertical or horizontal position information or the like of the picture relating the photographing at a header area of a picture data file.
