Abstract:

To provide an ammonia synthesizing catalyst which is chemically and thermally stable and has high ammonia synthesizing activity and a method for manufacturing the same.

The ammonia synthesizing catalyst is formed by using α-alumina containing barium or alumina containing the barium in the form of the multiple oxide of the barium and the alumina as a carrier and carrying ruthenium and a promoter thereon. The ammonia synthesizing catalyst is the α-alumina containing the barium which is the carrier and is formed by bringing an aluminum compound and a barium compound into a hydrothermal reaction by an inverse micelle process and then burning.
