Abstract:
The exhaust gas purifying system comprises a pipe (13) containing a purifying unit (12). Gas enters the pipe though an inlet (10) which is offset upwards from its central axis. The gas leaves through an outlet (14) which is offset downwards from the axis. A sensor (18) is mounted downstream from the unit in a section of the pipe wall which joins its top to the top of the outlet pipe so that the sensor section (18a) measures conditions along the axis of the pipe.
