A color chart preparing device 10 is provided, which prepares color chart data for a printer, by storing a plurality of pieces of color patch data 11 which are required at the time of preparing a device profile in which color characteristics of a printer are described to make color representations of different input/output devices match, and to show a combination of color materials, determining an arrangement order so as to make a color patch arrangement order to be random, and reading and arranging the color patch data according to a determined arrangement order, to thereby arrange the color patch data at random.
