Abstract:
The wideband antenna includes a dielectric resonator (1) which is mounted on a substrate (2) with an earth plane. The dielectric resonator is positioned at a distance x from at least one of the edges of the earth plane, x being chosen such that it is less than or equal to half the operating wavelength in the dielectric of the resonator, but greater than or equal to zero. Preferably the earth plane is formed by metalization of at least one surface of the substrate, a slot being formed in the metalization on the opposite face to couple to the resonator.
