To provide a manufacturing method of a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery capable of providing a battery with an excellent charge-discharge characteristic when used as the positive electrode active material of the lithium ion battery, and formed of a lithium phosphate compound having an olivine structure being a single phase and controlled in particle diameter with a large specific surface area.
This manufacturing method of a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery is used for manufacturing the positive electrode active material for the lithium ion battery formed of a lithium phosphate compound having an olivine structure. The manufacturing method is characterized by spraying and decomposing a solution or suspension containing lithium, a metal other than lithium and phosphorus to bake the obtained thermally decomposed product.
