Abstract:
The invention securely reduces an intake resistance in a high speed rotational range and thereby to contrive enhancement of a high speed output performance, while securing a low speed output performance of a parallel multi-cylinder engine for a motorcycle. To achieve this, a plurality of throttle bodies 18 with their upstream ends directed upwards are connected to a back surface of a forwardly inclined cylinder head 9 of a parallel multi-cylinder engine E of a motorcycle, a plurality of passages 33a and 33b, extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and parallel to each other, for communication between an air inlet 28 of an air cleaner 17 connected to the upstream ends of the throttle bodies 18 and the plurality of throttle bodies 18 are formed in the air cleaner 17, and an intake control valve 35 for opening/closing at least one passage 33b of the plurality of passages 33a and 33b is provided in the air cleaner 17.
