To prevent from driving by an unexpected driving force even if an abnormality occurs to a changing switch for instructing changes of traveling modes in a hybrid vehicle which is provided with an internal-combustion engine and an electric motor and is driven by changing a plurality of traveling modes which determine different driving characteristics to accelerating operations.

A normal mode is changed to a power mode (S280) after an accelerator is stepped to increase (S250-S270) when a power-switching signal Psw from a power switch is changed from OFF to ON when the vehicle is driven in the normal mode (S210-S240). By this, even if a power-switching signal Psw is changed from OFF to ON due to an abnormality, unexpected torque is prevented from being output against the driver's intention.
