A method for controlling the vehicle includes a step of calculating the balanced torque Tgrad of a vehicle on an ascent road surface by using the acceleration α of the vehicle (S120); a step of comparing a value obtained by multiplying a reflecting rate q set based on the rotational speed Nm of a motor by a calculated balanced torque Tgrad with a request torque Td* set by a vehicle speed V, etc; and a step of setting a larger one as an execution torque T* (S210) at an accelerator off time, setting the accelerator opening Acc reflecting the balanced torque Tgrad at the accelerator on time, and setting the execution torque T* based on this accelerator opening Acc (S160). Thus, the slide down on the slope road can be made quiet natural feeling, and a torque assistance of the torque in slope running can be made suitable.
