An organic layer 30a fitted between a first electrode 32 and a second electrode 36 includes a conjugated chain molecule composed of P-type molecule 34 transporting P-type carrier which is a conjugated hydrocarbon molecule having a plane structure, and an N-type molecule transporting N-type carrier which is a molecule of which at least one molecule at CH (carbon-hydrogen) position constituting a conjugated group of P-type molecule issubstituted by nitrogen, directly or indirect bonded to each other through a covalent bond. The plane structure of the P-type molecule and the N-type molecule is oriented almost vertical to a plane parallel with the first electrode 32 and the second electrode 36.
