Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium, by which the magnetic recording medium wherein a magnetic layer has no application defect, and an error rate is improved by reliably preventing generation of an application stripe, can be efficiently manufactured.
When a magnetic paint is applied directly or via a non-magnetic layer on one surface of a non-magnetic substrate to form the magnetic layer, at least cyclohexanone is used as a solvent of the magnetic paint and the magnetic paint is prepared so that a cyclohexanone content M (wt.%) in the magnetic paint and a solid concentration NV (wt.%) of the magnetic paint satisfy the relations expressed by M≥-2.5×NV+81 (1) and NV<15 (2).
