To provide a jellyfish inflow preventing apparatus for preventing the inflow of jellyfish from an intake of a curtain wall disposed in a coastal sea region and collecting the jellyfish in a fixed region.
This jellyfish inflow preventing apparatus is constituted by connecting a storage net 2 to a side sea region of the curtain wall 1a to form a jellyfish storage region 3, and disposing an air discharge pipe 8 on the open sea surface side of the curtain wall 1a on the opposite side to the storage net 2 side so as to be approximately parallel with the sea bottom in the state of being inclined onto the open sea side. In this apparatus, when air is discharged from the air discharge pipe 8, ascending flow and flow along the wall flowing toward the jellyfish storage region 3 along the outer surface of the curtain wall 1a are formed near the sea surface. The jellyfish surviving around the outside of the curtain wall 1a is thereby guided toward the jellyfish storage region 3 by the ascending flow and the flow along the wall and collected into the jellyfish storage region 3 from a jellyfish inflow port 4 along the jellyfish guide net 5.
