The method for drying a milled product by a circulating steam stream heated in a heat exchanger (1), and for separating it from the steam stream in separation units (3, 4) after the mill (2) utilizes the fact that all or a part of the steam stream can be switched to bypass the heat exchanger. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementation of the method.
