To provide a monitor apparatus for vehicle whereby a relation between a vehicle and an obstacle can more easily be decided when an omnidirectional camera takes images of the surrounding state of a vehicle.
An omnidirectional front camera 10 is mounted on a front bumper 1. The position of a reflecting mirror 13 in the omnidirectional camera 10 is set so that the front bumper 1 is located nearly vertically downward of the reflecting mirror 13 and the outermost circumferential edge 1a of the front bumper 1 is included in the imaging range. A display apparatus 20a installed in the interior of the vehicle displays the images taken and an image 1aK corresponding to the outermost circumferential edge 1a of the front bumper 1 is displayed in the displayed image. A line corresponding to an extension (γ in Figure 8) resulting from extending the tip of a side mirror of the vehicle in the forward / backward direction of the vehicle is displayed on the display apparatus 20a as a forward / backward directional extension line γK as an auxiliary display. Moreover, a graphic of the vehicle as a related display (simplified projection diagram obtained by projecting the vehicle V from above onto the ground face) is displayed in a portion of the inner side of the vehicle body from a display part of the front bumper 1, and the meaning of the γK is made clear by drawing the tip of the side mirror in the vehicle graphic such that the auxiliary display line γK passes through the tip.
