To provide a method which provides dust containing zinc and lead and having low arsenic and antimony contents and slag stably satisfying soil environmental standards, and realizes reutilization of a copper alloy and a mat including iron, lead, arsenic and other impurity metals which are simultaneously formed as copper sources for a copper fused body, when the method is used for subjecting slag produced from a smelting furnace for zinc and/or lead smelting to slag fuming.
The method for utilizing a copper alloy and a mat is characterized in that, when slag containing sulfur together with zinc and lead, and containing arsenic or arsenic and antimony is subjected to reduction blowing under the coexistence of a copper fused body in a slag fuming furnace, a copper alloy and a mat formed during the slag fuming are treated by a prescribed means and are repeatedly used as copper sources for the copper fused body.
