Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and safely recovering a high purity indium-contg. aq.soln. from an indium-cotaining material such as an ITO scrap in such a manner that the concn. of zirconium in indium is reduced. SOLUTION: A material contg. indium oxide is dissolved into an acidic aq. soln., and, after the control of the concn. of hydrogen ions in the dissolving soln. to the range of 0.5 to 2 mol/L, it is recovered as an indium-contg. aq.soln. by using an ion exchange resin to reduce the concn. of zirconium in the recovered indium. The material contg. indium oxide is desirably composed of an ITO oxide scrap. Moreover, the ITO powder uses an indium-contg. aq.soln. in which the concn. of zirconium to the obtd. indium is <=40 ppm as the raw material.
