To provide an electronic camera and a photographing control program capable of preventing a transition scene of a lens cover from appearing in a reproduced image.

A CPU 36 records moving picture data corresponding to a field captured by an image sensor 14 to a recording medium 50. The lens cover 42 is transitted between an opening state for permitting the incidence of an optical image to the image sensor 14 and a closing state for inhibiting the incidence of the optical image to the image sensor 14. When the lens cover 42 shifts from the opening state to the closing state, the CPU 36 completes recording. Further, the CPU 36 assigns information denoting timing ahead the end timing of the recording, that is, a tail end frame number FE to moving picture data as reproduction end timing information. The reproduction of the moving picture data is completed in timing in response to the tail end frame number FE.
