Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser device with excellent variable characteristics of a pulse cycle/oscillation wavelength. SOLUTION: A laser rosonator 100 is provided with mutually aligned distribution Bragg reflection(DBR) laser element 150 and grating fiber 160. The DBR laser element 150 is provided with an optical waveguide 110 extending to a second end face and formed of a DBR area 110a where a uniform grating 132 is formed, a saturable absorption area 110b and an active area 110c. Also, at the granting fiber 160, a chirp grating for changing a grating cycle not shown in the Figure is formed. As a result, in the laser resonator 100 between a reflection position in the DBR area 110a and the reflection position in the grating fiber 160, plural resonator length are realized, a circulating optical route to which the saturable adsorption area 110b and the active area 110c are interposed is formed and an oscillation operation with the excellent variable characteristics of the pulse cycle/oscillation wavelength is made possible.
