To provide a software installation management system that can reduce a burden on a user for management of individual information.
First individual information is read out from a first recording medium, and second individual information is read out of a second recording medium. A comparison between the first individual information and second individual information thus read out detects whether the first recording medium and second recording medium are a correct combination or not. If the detection reveals that the first recording medium and second recording medium are a correct combination, the installation of software from the second recording medium is permitted, whereon the software is read out of the second recording medium and the software thus read out is installed in a computer.
