To perform the normal transmission/reception operation of multi-media data even between terminals which belong to the same communication network.
A transmission source address acquiring means 13 acquires the external address/port number of an opposite terminal from media information and storing it in an opposite apparatus address storage means 12. A comparing means 14 compares the address/port number with own external address stored in an own apparatus address storage means 11. In the case of coincidence, an internal address/port number corresponding to the external address/port number of the opposite terminal is acquired from a router 4 through the use of an address requesting means 16 and an address receiving means 17. Then, a second setting means 18 sets the internal address/port number to the address/port number in data transmission/reception together with the own internal address/port number.
