To provide a thermostat device formed of thermoelements for an optical pickup which can be reduced in weight.
The n-type/p-type thermoelectric semiconductors 2 are pinched between a heat absorbing board 1 and a heat dissipating board 3 opposed to the board 1 to form the optical pickup thermostat device 10 equipped with a thermostat module displaying the Peltier effect. The optical pickup thermostat device 10 is characterized by the fact that the heat dissipating board 1 is formed of a flexible film and extended from a thermoelement unit 5, and that a metal layer is formed on the surface of the heat dissipating board 3 opposite to its other surface in contact with the n-type/p-type thermoelectric semiconductor 2. The heat dissipating board 3 is made of thermally conductive polyimide resin, and furthermore a conductor pattern is formed on the heat dissipating board 3.
