Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely execute a braking operation and to freely move a wheelchair without interference with rear wheels in spite of the upward rotation of armrests by pivotally supporting the upper edge rear end parts of the armrests in positions at the seat back side of a main body frame in the wheelchair to be lower than a seat part. SOLUTION: Upper edge rear end parts of armrests 10 are pivotally supported in the positions at the seat back side of the main body frame 20 in the wheelchair 100 to be lower than the seat part. That is, each connecting member 11 is formed by extension by bending downward and also in the direction of the frame 20 from each upper edge rear end part of each armrest 10. Each lower end part of the connecting member 11 is pivotally supported at the position being lower than the seat part of a rear pipe constituting the seat back part of the main body frame 20. Then the armrest is moved upward so that the side part of the wheelchair is opened. Then getting on/off is easily executed and the wheelchair is freely moved without interference between the armrests 10 and the rear wheels 23.
